Every single day I sit and look At a little girl who reads her book The people just whisper and stare At the little girl whose life was full of despair I sit and watch at a bench so near And while shes reading I see a tear All she wanted was just one day That her life wouldnt be depressing and gray I sit and watch at my windowsill As she sits and watches them so still Theyre all together in one big bunch The little girl just sits alone and eats her lunch She looks down at the world that has passed her by Wishing and hoping they would all just say goodbye I sit and watch behind the post Looking at the girl and what she wanted most All she ever wanted was somebody by her side One who would help her and be her guide A simple friend for her, was that too much to ask This girl is frightened and living behind a mask Life can be so hard when youre alone You blame yourself wishing you had known In the end the girl who was timid and shy Took off her mask and said goodbye This girls hardships in life, no more do we see But a better life where she can let herself be free
