NEW YORK -- While the selection of sexual wellness products on drug store shelves remains limited, retailers are finding that their web sites offer an ideal opportunity to present shoppers with a much wider array of items.
Zenith Replica Watches "People prefer a private shopping experience for sexual wellness, so an online retailer is ideal," says a spokeswoman for drugstore.com, which recently launched a microsite--sexualwellbeing.com--that offers condoms, lubricants, massagers, vibrators and stimulator/desensitizing formulas.
Michael Kane, chief business development officer for Liberator, calls sex toys "one of the biggest new categories for drug stores" and says advertisements in such publications as Men's Health Giverchy Handbags and Cosmopolitan have built mainstream appeal for Liberator bedroom adventure gear.
Sales of the company's new Tenga line of male masturbators on one major online drug site already total about $4,000 a week, notes Kane.
The line's subtle packaging makes Tenga "a perfect Replica Zodiac transition for retailers wanting to get more into the sexual well-being category without putting up a lime green rabbit vibrator with beads in it," he says.
Durex, he notes, is selling penis rings and finger massagers in drug stores. "And if you'd told K-Y [Johnson & Johnson] three years ago they were in the sex business they would have thrown you out of the building," he adds. "Now they've embraced it, and they're making more money than they know what to do with."
The Tenga line and Liberator's new Ticklers vibrators are "the next progression for this category," says Kane.
